Over the past year I've developed my newborn photography style. I would now describe it as baby-centered simplicity.
Lots of newborn photographers put babies in baskets with lots of props and outfits. But I've always known that wasn't my style but I wasn't sure which direction I was heading towards.
Then I came across the amazing American photographer Bethany Backhaus I realised her style was exactly where I want to go. I did her training course via my favourite photography website Clickin Moms and afterwards felt completely inspired by newborn photography again. This is so me!
So now my newborn photography is all about baby.
Perfect in every way.
Poses are simple but beautiful.
Props are simple and minimal so it doesn't distract from baby.
Often, baby will lead the posing to show all the quirky ways that newborns sleep and position themselves. For the part of the session I will often carefully wrap baby and get the bendy newborn poses that are comforting to baby whilst they all still curled up as if still in the womb.
