So on Sunday I went on a short walk around Bollington with a policeman.
You will hear me at length talking about how what your children wear makes a huge difference to a photo. But in true documentary photography dictates that as with news documentary photography you don't interefere with your subjects and you don't change the scene...
I always give my clients some advice about what to wear on their photo shoots but I was delighted that mum was so keen to get a coherent and subtle look for the family. She did a fantastic job and their wonderful gallery really shows how much clothing can really make a difference.
It was fantastic to shoot baby Evie's newborn photos. It was a bit déjà vu because only 3 years ago I did the same for her big sister, and they are so much alike. They were also great models, nice and sleepy ..
Just over 3 months ago I had the pleasure of photographing his birth, and it came with a bit of a surprise. It was a gorgeous home water birth. But the midwife didn't arrive in time so me & dad ended up being the ones to deliver him.
Whilst in France I caught up on some online photography courses I have signed up for this year. The course which grabbed me, and completely fitted the light around us in France was Light Seekers Breakout by Clickin Moms.
I was going through personal photos tonight and found a photo I don't even remember taking. That's not unusual. You know, I do take quite a lot of photos.
As a photography you probably think it's easy for me to get fantastic photos of my kids. Ah. Well. Maybe you haven't heard of photographer's child syndrome..
I've been inspired by the amazing US photographer Bethany Backhaus so my newborn photography is all about baby. Perfect in every way.
We've lived in Bollington over 6 years, and we are still discovering beautiful areas for walks and of course - photography.
My favourite shots. Maybe due to an unexpected expression on a child's face, the sun being just at the right angle...
Give them a massive beach, a bucket and net - and they are happy for hours. Even in the rain and the cold, they kids were happy..
I really don't know what I said that was so funny! I must be hilarious right?
